Pelvic PT for Women—
From Pregnancy to Menopause and Everything In Between
Remember when...
-
Picking up toys didn’t make your back hurt?
-
You could sneeze without changing clothes?
-
You could actually enjoy sex?
-
YOU were in control of your bowels and bladder—not the other way around?
Those were the days, right?
Maybe you’ve tried to get back there, thinking if you could just find the right exercises or the right person, you could.
Or maybe you’ve spent late nights Googling your symptoms and doing exercises from YouTube without relief.
Meantime, pelvic pain is hurting your sex life. Or maybe your bladder leakage is getting worse.
Hi, I'm Darlene!
A women's health physical therapist in Huntersville, NC.
I’ve practiced pelvic therapy since 2002, and helped start one of the first pelvic rehab programs in the Charlotte area.
Since then, I’ve worked with hundreds of women like you, empowering them with tools and techniques to minimize pain and leakage—and take control of their lives.
How Barb
Improved Leakage
Barb was in her early 60's and loved her workout class. She had some leaking, but nothing a panty liner and dark leggings couldn't handle.

Then she got a cough. Her leaking worsened, and she felt pelvic discomfort with jumping and squats—like something was coming out!

I evaluated Barb's posture, breathing, and strength. With small improvements in each area, she saw a big improvement in leakage. Now, she’s back at the gym and playing with her grandkids
without worry!

How Brianna Beat Bladder Problems
Brianna developed a bladder infection at college that never got better despite a few rounds of antibiotics.
Her bladder pain, urgency, and frequency were so intense she took a semester off.
She was nervous about social outings, afraid she wouldn't be able to get to a bathroom and that food would set off a flare up.
Brianna and I:
-
Worked on breathing and relaxation to settle her nervous system
-
Did manual work and stretching
-
Used biofeedback to relax her pelvic floor muscles
-
Identified what triggered pelvic muscle tightness and how to calm down a bladder urge

Now, she can go several hours between peeing. She's back at school and reported no issues during her virtual follow up!

Patient Testimonial
Darlene isn't your average pelvic PT—she's the BEST.
"I thought my SI joint injury was 'unfixable' because I'd worked with several PTs and nothing helped. I stopped exercising to prevent back pain, which worked well enough until I had a baby, nursed him for two years, and developed chronic upper back and neck pain.
My functionality was limited; even doing dishes caused intense pain. My computer job seemed like torture because it made my neck hurt so bad.

Darlene helped me strengthen my core and stabilizer muscles, fixed my SI joint issue, and did soft tissue work to help relieve tight fascia.
We chipped away at the pain over the next few months as my body became stronger and I noticed muscles working that I hadn't felt in a long time.

Now I can work at the computer all day without pain. Doing dishes doesn't hurt. I can pick up my kids and sit on the floor with them without a screaming neck and back. I'm taking group strength classes and exercising regularly. Darlene isn't your average pelvic PT—she's the BEST."
